Creating a time tracker app, would like to incorporate some error-proofing

Hi all,

I've created a time tracker app that allows employees who work on customer complaints to log the amount of time they spend working on the case. Our team wanted to see how much time is spent working on cases to maybe see if we needed to hire additional team members, etc. The employee would use the app to view all cases assigned to them via a gallery in the app and then click to "check-out", which then submits a row to a SharePoint List with the start date and time and vice versa when the employee is finished working on the case for the time, they would click to check-in and the row gets updated with an end date and time and calculates the total amount of time spent between the two date fields.

I want to incorporate some error-proofing into the app when employees basically either forget to log the case back in, maybe like a time out that at the end of the day it just updates the row with an end time. The purpose is we don't want employees to report inaccurate data by forgetting to check back in the case to record an end time. Are there any recommendations on how I could implement something like that or perhaps reconfigure the app?

It's not a one-to-one with what you are doing, but you might want to check out my video on time tracking.  More significantly is that (toward the end) I address letting users adjust their times in the event they "forget".

    Might give you some ideas.

I hope this is helpful for you.
