Power Portal Pages - Forgot Username button

Hi all,

I need a little bit of help. I was doing some research and I am being told that by adding a "Forgot Username" button on a Power Page portal may not be Microsoft supported due to adding custom code to it. Is there any good documentation anywhere that someone can point me to saying this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here's what you could do as a workaround. It will need some custom code and some backend component.

Add a custom button to the Log In Page (Ref. https://debajmecrm.com/place-custom-button-on-registration-page-in-dynamics-365-portals/)
Open a custom entity page that asks for the email address.
On submission (create of that entity record), run a Power Automate to look for Contact with that email that has a username.
Send the username via email.

Thanks for the information. I guess my question is, by doing this is this still supported by Microsoft?
