Enable a disabled form control

I'm exploring the "After School Program Registration" template to better understand form-based collection/presentation of data.

If you edit an existing course, the Category section fails the update as it clears the value for some reason. More to the point of the question is that the control is also disabled, disallowing the user from being able to make a selection to get around this failure.

So, where is this control being disabled and how would I enable it so it can be updated accordingly?

I won't address the sample directly (as I don't use it), but readonly fields can be set in various places:

    • (unlikely in this case) field setting on the Dataverse Form (used by the Basic Form etc) can be marked readonly
    • JavaScript/JQuery in the Additional Settings Tab of the Basic Form
    • JavaScript/JQuery in a script tag in a Web Template (attached to the Web Page via its Page Template)
    • JavaScript/JQuery in the Web Page's, Advanced tab
    • (unlikely in this case) JavaScript/JQuery in a Web File that is referenced by a Web Page, Web Template or other piece of JavaScript
    • (unlikely) Could also attach a PCF control to the field that has its own logic
    • (unlikely - but I have seen it) script inside a Web Resource embedded on the Dataverse form, where the Basic form has Rendeer web resource option ticked.
    • The Form itself can be defined as Readonly (in which case all fields are readonly) rather than Insert or Edit.

(you will find all the above in the Portal Management App)

None of these help. But thanks for trying.
