Alerts in Power Pages

Hi.

I would like to ask what is the best approach to configure alerts in Power Pages?
I know there is an "OnSucces" option for Basic Form, but is it possible to provide a custom alert, for example, about a failure when adding a record?

I noticed that when you use Virtual Tables and try to add a record, but from an external data source the validation fails, then dataverse can provide an alert from the external source and show it on the screen.

I wonder if I can use this in Power Pages and set up alerts on the external source page?

Any knowledge about configuring alerts will be very useful 🙂

Hi, I am not sure what you are trying to achieve, if you get an error when adding a record you should get a red alert box already.

Can you provide a mock of what you are looking for?

I understand that an alert, if adding records failed, is generated from the dataverse and will be displayed on the screen. However, I wonder if I can change the content of this alert to make it more user-friendly, for example.

The second thing is that I am using virtual tables to connect to Business Central data.
I noticed that when validation on the Business Central side fails, Dataverse warns me:
"There was an error in saving this record," and then it will add the content of the alert that I have configured on the Business Central side.

And I wonder if I can use that response from BC API to configure my own alerts in Power Pages?

I haven't worked on integrating BC to power pages, so not sure how much you can change the API response to achieve that.

If you have access to manipulate the way the server-side gives the error, that would probably be the best option. of not, I think the only way here is to apply JS on the load of the page, check if you have the alert with that specific text and then change the content.

@hubjes I suggest you can go with Jquery confirm (client side library) to show alert or confirmation message.

    Thanks for reaching out.
I think that Dynamics 365 Business Central doesn't support JQuery and to be honest i don't understand how I can connect alerts from Business Central to Dataverse with that.
