I would like to create a word document from metadata in a sharepoint list.
I need to create a letter (word doc) from a template. Inside the letter are fields that will be merged from the sharepoint list metadata.
Is this possible with flow?
thanks
Max
I have tried this and it works, is there a way that the created file can be created as pdf/word instead of file type,
thanks in advance
Hi everybody,
I see that the discussion here is a bit outdated) But still, I believe that many users want to achieve the same - create Word documents consuming SharePoint list metadata. It's doable with Plumsail Documents.
Here is described how to set up the flow - https://plumsail.com/docs/documents/v1.x/user-guide/processes/examples/create-word-from-sharepoint-list.html
Note: the solution is paid, with a one-month free trial.
Here is how I achieved it with Microsoft Flow:

Hello @MaxTampa,
Did you find a solution ? I'm currently facing the same problem.
Thank you,
Martin
Hi @MaxTampa
Frankly I have not worked with this for a long time, but you could be right.
Possibly the document gets created with the initial metada, but does not get updated if the metadata changes.
Not ideal, but you could delete and recreate the document if the metadata changes.
@v-yamao-msft I have been testing @Meneghino suggestion as I need the document in SharePoint versus Dropbox.
I have been able to build out a flow as directed. I am not able to get the word document to update. I do get a new document created in the document library with metadata paced inside the document.
I may not be creating the template correctly.
Do you have any additional details on setting the Word Template in the document library?
Thanks
Max
Hi MaxTampa,
You may try the following flow configuration to see if it will meet your needs.
In this flow, I use the trigger “When an item is created”, and save the file on Dropbox.
Please try it on your side.
If you need more help, please feel free reply.
