Hi, I am trying to install such Gateway for PowerApps ( because I want to use it with SQL Connector ) . We have different servers and I would install that gateway directly on our SQL server. The installation is authorized using my Office365 mail account. Now our IT manager told me that they installed another gateway which they want to use for PowerBI. When I login to PowerApps and check under "Gateways" there is NO other visible gateway, so I guess I do not see there gateways installed by other people - Correct? or it is permission thing? He also wanted any kind of statement how many gateways we could install based on Best practice. I guess 2 gateways pr. server is max. possible - correct?
To use a Gateway you need to be added to the user's list for that gateway(or be a member of a group that is in the list). Here is the documentation on the user levels for a gateway. Preview: View and manage on-premises data gateways - Power Platform | Microsoft Docs
In addition to that there are two different kinds of gateways. There is a Personal Mode gateway that only works with Power BI. If its that kind of gateway you won't see it in any of the other Power platform apps.
In terms of Best Practices, you should only install one gateway per server. But its best to have two gateways on separate servers to provide redundancy.
Thanks a lot for your help
