I am wanting to have click on an item in a list, which then takes me to another list which has more details about that item, however it just displays all the items without that fitlering step.
When i click on view details for the first item, I want it to only bring back that item in the second list, but it shows all items still

Assuming you have created appropriate relationships to your tables.
You can create "Related subgrids" to achieve your needs.
