Expression Help

Hi,

I have 3 fields called remit1, remit2, remit3 which are imported from Sharepoint List using Get Items. I then have an apply to each which will fill a Word template for each record.

Does anyone know how I can use an expression at the circled fields to an extra space where there is already one? So a remit field will look something like this but can vary sometimes.

But I want it to appear with an extra space between each?

Thanks!!

Sion

    Re: Expression Help

Hi thanks for replying. I have tried ChatGpt and the expression tool and I had no luck. Perhaps what I am trying to achieve here isn't possible. I appreciate you taking the time to help.

    Thanks!

    Dear Sion,

It is a still a bit unclear to me what you are trying to achieve and if this is the right way to go about it.

Please do not get me wrong ... this is not meant in a negative way ... it is just not clear to me based on the conversation so far what you need to get ahead (and if I can help in this).

With my limited experience with chatGPT so far, it seems that your questions would be very suitable to ask there and amend to your specific needs ... the good thing about chatGPT is that you can tell it to adjust and amend based on the previous input and as such you will step by step move towards your perfect solution.

Just start by asking it to write an expression to be used in PowerAutomate by which you wnat to add in spaces ... you can even include your example data from before and after ....

Come to think of this, PowerAutomate has such a function as well ....  https://rishonapowerplatform.com/2022/08/09/turn-on-the-new-power-automate-expression-builder-dynamic-content-selector/

    Re: Expression Help

Thank you for your reply, I was unable to accomplish with the replace something about the first parameter not being a string.

    I will explain further:

    SionHuws_0-1681387529639.png

Here is a rough draft of what my word template looks like. The remit1,remit2,remit3 etc are plain text content controls and next to it you can see the data that will come from the Sharepoint list to populate the content controls. The content controls have a matching field in a sharepoint list. What I want to accomplish is to add 3 or 4 extra spaces where there is already a space to space them out on the template letter. I have tried looking into doing this before it reaches this point of the system but if this works within an expression it would make things much easier for me.

I understand that it may be a bit too much to ask here but is there any chance you could write me an example expression for the remit 1 line? The sharepoint field is called field_12? Then I'm guessing I could then use this over and over for the rest and changing the field to _13, _14 etc?

    Thanks!

    Sion

    Dear Sion,

I am wondering why you would want to have 2 spaces ... while normally you would want to remove spaces in your data. But it seems that with the replace() expression you could make this happen.
