Creating All day and recurring events in Sharepoint with PowerApps screen

Hi,

I'm trying to create a scheduling app in PowerApps with Sharepoint in the backend.  It's so easy to do in Sharepoint, but it seems to be impossible to import into PowerApps the All Day and the Recurring dates options in Sharepoint.  Is it possible to do so?  Or I can only do it in Sharepoint for now?

Blessings,

Thea

Is there any workaround to create a weekly, monthly, and yearly event?

    Thanks!

    Hi Thea,

I needed the same function and managed to figure out a workaround until it's available in PowerApps.

My app is linked to a SharePoint calendar, the info below is my test for basic recurring events that works:

    1. On the Sharepoint calendar I added 3 new columns,

    a) StartTime2  (Date and Time)

    b) EndTime2  (Date and Time)

    c)  Recurring Event  (Yes/No checkbox) and linked these fields to my app, see below:

    2. Added these to my app:

    StartTime2 and EndTime2 visibility set to If(Toggle.Value=true,true,false)

    TestCalForm.PNG

    3. Microsoft Flow:

    1st.PNG2nd.PNG

The "Get items" part of the flow is what gets the info filled in for StartTime2 and EndTime2.

This flow will  only run if the Recurring Event toggle is set to true, then create a new calendar entry on the dates/times specified from StartTime2 and EndTime2, but will keep the Event Name and Description the same, or however you choose.

The result is I now have 2 SharePoint calendar entries with the same description and name, but on different dates according to the form.

     SPCalendar.PNG

Obviously you can add as many StartTime and EndTime columns as needed.

Remember this is a basic workaround and can be finetuned further, but it should get you on the right track.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi @theanoreen,

Do you want to get the All Day Event option (field) and Recurrence option (field) within your PowerApps app?

Thanks for your feedback, I have made a test and the issue is confirmed on my side. There is no way to import the All Day Event option and Recurrence option from SharePoint into a PowerApps app within PowerApps currently.

I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently, if you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:

    Best regards,

    Kris
