my own REST API as a data source - on premise database

Hello,

I wanna create a report which can connect to my on-premise database by using my own REST API. So I have created my own API which has few methods which will return data in a form of JSON or a dataset. I wish to use this API as a data source and create report/dashboard in power bi.

Can someone please help me, how that possible. Or can someone tell me what is the data capacity of power bi on-premise data gateway.

Since power bi report server does not have individial license as it has come under premium license which is not affordable option at all. So what are the alternatives to connect to my on-premise database and view dashboard/reports.

Thanks,

Gourangi
