After changing the URL of a site page in SharePoint, I noticed that when retrieving the previous version of the site page, the "FileRef" field contains the updated URL.
It seems the original URL is not stored anywhere. Is that correct?
Normally I expect this in the version history. But I see the same thing, it seems to overwrite the FileRef and FileLeafRef values of the older versions in the version history. I wonder if this is by design?
Plan B could be the rename a file operation of the File and page activities in Purview Audit logs. That should contain these type of details.
Thank you for your reply @Expiscornovus
I was probably not clear enough in my question. I am referring to the URL of a single page, not the entire site.
Example: testpage.aspx → test.aspx
