Retrieve SAML Response from Identity Provider

Hello,

 

Is there a way to get the SAML response from an IDP to grab attribute information?

 

I've configured my portal to authenticate to a 3rd party IDP using SAML2. If the email address doesn't exist in the portal, it automatically create it in the contact record with first, last, and email address. I want to grab another attribute that's included in the SAML assertion for my needs. Is there a way to do that through a plugin or another way that I'm not aware of?

    Hi @biggo78 ,

    As far as I know, there is no SAML2 custom attribute/claims mapping in Portal. But possible workaround might be (and I am thinking out loud here as I didn't try that) is to use Azure AD B2C which support custom claims mapping and integrate it with SAML2. So you will have Portal -> Azure AD B2C -> SAML2.

    Thanks for your reply. The IDP is AD FS and I don't have control over that selection. I was hoping there was a "backdoor" to the Portal's default endpoint https://<portalurl>/signin-saml_1 to intercept the saml assertion.
