Issue with Date Handling in Power Automate Flow

Goodmorning all,

I wanted to share a technical issue I’ve encountered while working on a Power Automate flow that connects Microsoft Forms with the Outlook calendar. The flow itself is functioning — it successfully creates calendar events based on form submissions — but the date handling isn’t working as expected.

Specifically, the date entered in the form is not correctly reflected in the Outlook calendar. For example, if I submit a form for an event on **25 November 2025**, the calendar entry is created for **today’s date, 19 November 2025**, instead of the intended date.

While the automation setup seems correct, the date mismatch is proving to be a challenge.

If you have any suggestions or insights, I’d really appreciate your input.

With kind regards,

Danielle van Meel

Can you share a screenshot of your setup? This will help troubleshoot your date format issue.

    Zeker,

Hierbij het deel van de datum in het formulier

En hierbij het deel van de stroom:

I suggest putting a compose Action after each step that manipulates the date and putting the output of the previous step as its input to get where the date is getting the incorrct value.

    I hope this helps!

    Good morning,

if I remove the compose action, the problem remains the same. The compose actions were added later because of the date issue.

Can you double check or share the inputs and outputs of the Reactiedetails ophalen (Get response details) and Gebeurtenis maken (v4) (Create Event) actions?

Would be great to see that as well of the flow run which generated the 19 november date.

Below is an example in my setup in my development environment.

As you can see in my test it used 2025-11-25 and converted the expression into an outlook calendar event at 01 am on the 25th of November.

I'm noticing a possible issue with your flow.

    In your Convert Timezone action:
The "time unit" should be a datetime format string, not the date collected on the form. If you remove the custom dynamic content, there will be a drop-down menu with format options. Oddly, when I try passing a date into this field I get an error message. The Convert Timezone action itself wants to see the date format in ISO 8601 ('yyyy-MM-dd') so best practice would be to convert your input date to this format before the Convert Timezone action.

Beyond that, as @Expiscornovus said we would need to see the Outputs of each action from a completed (or failed) flow run so we can see what data Power Automate is using at each step.

I see you have a separate question for the time. In that case you can simply use a concat instead. With that concat function you can merge the answers into the correct format for the start time and end time fields (which is yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss)

And btw, the convertimezone is not needed, since you are selecting the (UTC + 1) timezone in the event creation action itself as well.

    Below is an updated example
Make sure you update the question ids to your specific question ids of your date and start time questions.

    concat(outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/rf7ab2f3719e44c4abaac63aa44df2186'],'T',outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/re861d79760f94d3c99d8927183d7faca'],':00')
