Power Up Challenge: Error Importing Excel Table with Relationship in Dataverse

Posted on by 21

Greetings!

I am in the middle of Power Up Learning course. First task is to make model-driven app.
I have imported the Shelter Table with a primary key of Shelter ID with no problem.
I have created a Foster Family table with a column lookup (Local Shelter) to first table Shelter Table (Shelter ID column).

I had this error when importing data to the Foster Family table.
Please help. I can't use dataflow because of free account.
Attached are the tables and the error logs.
Thank you!

hi guys, thanks for the replies.

    my csv table is fine.

I found a solution to my problem with the steps below:

    1. On my lookup (first) table, I added a new key referencing my primary key (not the default primary key of dataverse table)
    2. On my second table, I created a column with lookup that matches the schema name of the primary key on the first table.

    Hi

The error that appears in the third file is clear, when it tries to resolve the value of the search column it does not find it, you must check that it is written the same in Excel as in the Dataverse table, otherwise it will always fail.

Also check the way you are saving the csv with comma or semicolon separator

    Hi,

This usually means you have a typo, probably in your lookup column.

Go back to our Tables, do not look at the LABEL Text, look at the schema name
or bring pictures here to help you, but my guess is your lookup has a typo in it
    so your import fails.
