OIDC Custom Identity Provider setup 502 error

Hey, #PowerPlatform cracks! We're facing an issue trying to set up a custom OIDC Identity Provider (not B2C) for a #PowerPages site.

We entered the provider configuration, such as metadata address, scope, authority, redirect uri, response type, etc. but although the token is generated and is well formed, every time we set up the identity provider; a 502 error is thrown.

What we've tried:

- Configured and enabled the custom identity provider

- Let the Entra ID provider, enabled

- Configure the home page visibility to be available for everyone (Anonymous users)

If we go to the home page, it loads correctly as an anonymous user. Then, when I try to go to a private page, the login screen is shown. When I choose to sign in using the custom identity provider, an error is thrown showing the message below.

Any ideas?

I just ran into this error while configuring Entra External ID as the provider.

In my case, I copied the value for the metadata address from the app registration end points in Azure, but the address was not reachable as-is without swapping the "organizations" path segment with the organization name.

I can't speak to your custom provider configuration but it might not hurt to check the metadata address and that its returning the adequate response.

hope it helps if you're still facing this issue or someone comes across the post with the same error (as I did).
