How to restrict a page to specific users?

Hello Everyone.

Is it possible to set page access permission based on email address?  I have a portal page that I only want specific users to be able to view.

I understand that I can set permission for anonymous or authenticated users.  All the users in question will be authenticated (they have to log in using their work email address to view the portal), so that's why I thought of restricting by email address.

Otherwise, how can I create a new user group (e.g.,. 'Approved Users') and then add only those users who I want to be able to view the page to the group using their email address?

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards.

    1. Create a Web Role for those users with appropriate Table Permissions to any data specific to those users
    2. Create a Web Page Access Control Rule (may need to use the Portal Management app), on the form select the Web Page to restrict and for Rights select  Restrict Read
    3. on the new Web Page Access Control Rule add your Web Role under the Web Roles Tab.
    4. Sync the Portal (or manually clear the portal cache /_services/about when logged is as a user with the Web Role Administrators)

@Fubar Have I done this properly?

You can see my web page access control role with the web role attached.

The web page access control rule has the portal and page I want and the right is set to Grant Change.

The web role has contacts (they are not users, so I was confused, which I added myself), who are the users  who I want to be able to access the page.

I also set the web role as an Authenticated Users Role.

I then synced the portal changes.

    Thank you so much!

The Page you want to restrict you create the Rule as Restrict Read.  Associating a Web Role with the Rule gives permission to the page to any user with that Web Role.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-pages/security/page-security#restrict-read

All of your Portal Users get a Contact record created for them, in Dataverse the Portal User is a Contact.

Ticking the Authenicated Users in the Web Role means that any logged in user will inherit the permissions of that Web Role (and you can only have 1 of these - if there are multiple the system may randomly select the one to  use).  For what you are doing you probably want it unticked, and the Web Role directly assigned to the Contact records.

Grant Change - is for something else, such as giving someone permission to edit the content of a Page itself via the front end editor - so probably not what you want

    Thank you @Fubar.

I updated the rule to Restrict Read, and when I go to the page now I get this.

How do I find my username and password to sign in with a local account?  I already added myself as a contact.

    Many thanks.
