Connectors for Desktop Flows

I'm using a trial version of Power Automate to get a better understanding of the functionality and have a couple of questions on using connectors.

  • I've set up a connector for Jira using the API, however, I'm not seeing any options in the Desktop flow application for Jira actions.  Is this functionality not available in the trial version?
  • Wondering if anyone has established custom connectors for paid ads platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Ads, etc?  Does that require a developer to accomplish?

Thank you!

    Re: Connectors for Desktop Flows

    Hi @rknimble ,

Lot of questions here so will answer the ones I know.

You can connect to LinkedIn directly through the cloud flows (v2) connector and works well; I am using hourly 24/7.  You could also do some more customer stuff directly in a browser window but be careful, LinkedIn does not support or agree to this automation and you risk getting shut down.

Jira won't work without a paid subscription.  Lots of issues regardless.  I did some tests and that's a far as a I went.  Kinda works for some actions.  Also note:  the Jira actions are cloud connectors, not desktop actions. I'm not seeing any big posts how wonderful Jira/Power Automate are together.

Meta does work well through a desktop flow working directly out of your Meta business page.  You can actively post to FB and Insta pretty easily.  Outside of that, you will need a developer account through Meta to write your own customer connector, seems pretty technical so if you just posting or responding to comments, I like the Desktop flow route.

That said, for LinkedIn and Meta, you can do almost anything you want with a premium license (you need premium to at least run attended flows from a cloud flow), UNLESS, you are ok just manually starting your desktop flow by pressing run - which isn't bad for testing and the initial development.
