Licensing required to Convert Trial Portal in Developer Environment to Production

Hi,

We have created a Trial Portal in a Developer Environment using the link below.

https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-au/developerplan/

Our Trial Portal (using Dataverse as the data source) has now expired and we want to keep the Portal for future reference (no desire to use Portals for production systems just yet).

We have no existing licenses for PowerApps/Dynamics products.  We have spent quite some time trying to work out exactly what licenses we need to move the Trial Portal into production.  As we do not have any intentions at this stage to progress the Portal any further we have been trying to work out the most cost effective way to get the portal moved so we can use if for reference in future Portals we may develop, if at all.

Finding a straight forward answer is proving difficult so can anyone provide us with some simple steps on what we need to do to get the Portal into Production?

Cheers

Greg J

    Hi @gjohncock

Here are few tips which will help you.

    In your dev environment.

    1. Please delete the Portal and recreate it again. The screenshot is below for reference. All your work will be still there. This is a soft delete rather than hard delete. So you can with 100% confidence you can delete and recreate it. You will get 30 days again.

    2. Once you have decided to use Portal for production. Then you have two choices to migrate  either using

    a. Configuration Migration Tool. Official URL: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/portals/admin/migrate-portal-configuration

    b. Using XRM Tool Box- Portal Records Mover: URL: https://www.xrmtoolbox.com/plugins/MscrmTools.PortalRecordsMover/

In the upcoming release wave, You can expect CI/CD to move the portal between environments using Powerapps CLI.

    Hope it helps.

    @ragavanrajan- Brilliant!

Step 1 has worked as you suggested.  If I could give you 2 thumbs up I would!

    Thank you very much
