With PowerApps Portal, is Dynamics 365 Portal being deprecated?

Hello Community,

My understanding is that PowerApps Portal is replacing Dynamics 365 Portal, and that new customers wishing to implement a portal solution for Dynamics 365 should go with the PowerApps Portal moving forward.

Does anyone know if Dynamics 365 Portal will be deprecated soon at some point, and when?

Thank you!

    Hi @Anonymous :

As far as I know, in theory ,there is no difference between Power Apps portals and Dynamics 365 Portals. Because even in Microsoft's guidance document there is such a description-"Power Apps portals were earlier known as Dynamics 365 Portals."

The difference between the Power Apps portal and the Dynamics 365 portal may only be a difference in license:

Parameter Dynamics 365 Portals New Power Apps Portals
Provisioning a portal environment Purchase Dynamics 365 Additional Portal SKU at $500 per month Provision a portal—no need to purchase portal addons to provision a portal
Qualifying base offers Dynamics 365 licenses only Customers can add on portal external login or page view capacity to Dynamics 365, Power Apps and Power Automate licenses
Internal use rights Dynamics 365 enterprise licenses, Dynamics 365 team member license. Internal users can now access portals with a Power Apps per-app/per-user license. For a Dynamics license it is same as custom Power Apps use rights.
Monetization Per portal environment Per page view Per log in Per page view
Entitlement for Dynamics 365 customers 1 portal environment for the first 10 full Dynamics 365 USLs Not applicable―Power Apps Portals environments can be provisioned

Up to now, I have not heard of any news about the cancellation of Dynamics 365 licenses for portal.

In addition, if you are interested in the future update plan of the portal, I think these links may help you:

    Hi

I believe it won't be deprecated for a while also because of Marketing/Events Portals.

D365 Marketing is not planned to move to the Power Platform (as far as I know), so that's why I think D365 Portals will still exist.
