Power Pages licencing options

A few months ago I told a client that their options for Power Pages licencing for one site to be accessed by a few hundred anonymous users was £0.20 per user per month on Pay as you go or £61.60 for 500 users per month on Subscription. I found these two options on the microsoft power pages pricing web page.

They are looking to move from trial to production but I cannot see the pay as you go option in the pricing anymore. Has it been removed? I can see in the portal that you can get the option of using an azure payg subscription when you create new production environment but cannot see confirmation of the costs on Azure site? They will have dataverse for their forms and one user with power automate licence to use the dataverse connectors.

    Hi @jb24,

as you said everything related to power page pricing is listed here: https://powerpages.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/

The plan for Power Pages seems to be in preview:

Same as you i thought it's already out. You can find some more information here

I still can't work out all the licencing for PAYG. My scenario is that I have a trial environment that expires in 6 days now. I created an Azure subscription and a Pay as you Go billing policy. I don't get the option to add the trial environment to this policy as apparently you can only add Production environments to a billing policy.

Next I try converting the site to production and get the attached message which is useless. The title says convert a trial to production then the red message says it can only be done in a production environment??

With another route I get the other error. I believe this is to do with Capacity and needing 1GB of spare capacity somewhere to do the process. I assume I need to pay for this but surely paying for this is possible via the PAYG plan yet I can't get to that stage to link the environment? It would help if my DB wasn't already 1.09GB even though I didn't select the option to include sample data and only have 5 custom tables I am using and there is no data in them.

    Any ideas?

    Hey @jb24

Usually, the PAYG setup is applicable to Sandbox and Production environments. The dataverse storage behind the scenes is utilised to create various solutions that include, site templates and Azure connection. Even if you don't select the sample apps data option. This is the default case.

Anyway, I would suggest you to create a support ticket with the Power Platform team and raise it as a high priority to convert your environment.

    Hope it helps.

Thanks, I've raised a support request. I can't believe you are unable to convert a trial to production using a PAYG plan. I must be doing something the wrong way round.

I had a call with support last night and they were not able to help. They think I cannot do the conversion as I don't have 1GB spare capacity but this is because when I installed the trial it started off at 1.09GB database and over 1.5GB files. They think I may need to purchase additional capacity from the M365 admin centre so I have 1GB spare capacity, then convert to Production and then change it to a PAYG plan. They are not sure however whether converting it over to PAYG will cancel the M365 admin purchase of additional licences or if I am stuck with these for a year or something not being used. They also don't know about what I need to buy as they said to get an additional 1GB spare capacity as per the documentation but is this 1GB of Dataverse database at $40 per GB or Dataverse Files at $2 per GB. They asked me to speak to someone in Sales who may know.

Surely I can't be the first person wanting to do a trial, then convert to production but use a PAYG plan.

Hopefully they will work it out in the next 3 days when my trial ends!

Actually I think this issue is the same as this one https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussions/Is-Dataverse-storage-included-in-a-Pay-as-you-go-plan-and-if-so/m-p/1987862#M2264 so I assume documentation has not been updated since then. My error message is slightly different as theirs states it is a capacity issue.

Just an update that I got 1GB Dataverse capacity added via M365 admin centre. This enabled me to convert the environment to Production OK. I was then able to attach the environment to a PAYG subscription and then convert the powerpages trial to live.

The only thing I am now checking is whether I can delete the 1GB capacity I bought as I should now be billed via the PAYG for actual usage. I do have a red warning message under Resources > Capacity saying my org is over capacity which I expected to disappear once linked to PAYG but will see if that clears shortly.

At least I know this is the process for moving from trial to production on a PAYG billing option.
