Create dynamic TOP menu with entity list

I'm building portal now and discussing possibilities with our portal TOP page.

Currently we have static HTML menu to jump designated pages.

But we are thinking if our services and web pages are continually growing, possibly, taking care of pages and static menus will be our obstacles to keep using portal.

And one more required function we want to have is SEARCH, searching menu items.

I would like to know the possibility or any advice weather we can create dynamic menu with like Entity list and modify its design or not.

If we can archive this with Entity list or some, is there practical reference or real-world examples?

Appreciate your help!

    Hi @Sam44

You can create your own custom header web template depending on your requirement. For example based on user logins show specific menus. This is one of the way.

Other approach is to use the OOTB option I e.

    1. Create web Roles

    2. Apply web page access control rules

This will allow you to display specific menus depending on user web role.

You can find a solved thread in the same forum. Let me know if you trouble getting this.

Regarding search: the portal inbuilt search will search the menus. In addition you can configure search filters or advanced search can be configured.

    Hi @ragavanrajan ,

    Thanks for your reply!!

My explanation was short enough, I'm sorry.

My problem is, currently we have static TOP page and "MENU", here I expressed MENU is a link list to the pages. Below is current.

but this type of Menu (Links to the pages, written by static HTML) seems doesn't appropriate if we have many. So I wonder if we can have new entity, lest's say named "Our Service MENU Entity" to contain link list and put it on the TOP page as Menu.

Problem is entity list is not clickable if we create the column "URL"..........  and design perspective too, would like to have more MENU like, not just entity list style.

Hi, you can use the Web Link Set and Web Link tables to structure your menu

You can access those via Liquid, so basically you can create a genetic code to render the menu whatever way you want, and as you add more links, it will appear in your page

if you look at the OOB Header Web Template, this will have an example on how to use the Web Link Set object
