Branching Logic Conditional Expression issue

(1) ShareShare

I have a simple need for a multi step form.  I am almost completed with the form....just one thing remains.  I need to be able to have branching logic expression where an option set field equals another option set field.

ie....new_optionfield1 == new_optionfield2

I can't believe it doesn't work.

    Hi

    So a couple of things
    1. Unless you compare the string values of 2 separate OptionSets, or (and this isn't always), the Columns are actually the Same Option set, then they wont work for comparing

    2. Depending on what you are trying to do are you comparing the Value or the Text (which is your need??)

    You can't compare two choice fields with themselves, you would need to compare with the value

    For example new_optionfield1  == 123 & new_optionfield2 == 123

    something like that

     I assumed  new_optionfield1 == new_optionfield2 is comparing the value....and that is fine with me....actually either would work...label or value.

    Hi

    when I say compare label vs value, this is not about the Choice's Label or Value, the Portal will always compare value

    However it can't compare against another choice, it will compare against a static value

    new_optionfield1  == 123 (where 123 is the value of the choice - and not another choice field)

    Ok, that is what I needed to know.....if you can compare values for option sets.  Thanks.  I guess I will have to do javascript.
