To your question about using a Student (personal) vs Work account:
The short answer
If you have a Work or School account, it’s better to use that.
Why?
While a personal/student account works perfectly for participating in the community, the Power Up Program focuses a lot on hands-on labs.
Those labs often require a Developer Environment, which is much easier to set up and manage with a Work/School (Entra ID) account.
What this means for you
If you’re already using a Work/School account:
You’re in a great spot, no extra setup is needed.
If you’re using a personal/student account:
You can continue using it here, but during the labs you may need to create a developer environment or trial tenant to access all features.
If your organization has restrictions (for example, blocking environment creation), you can always create your own Microsoft 365 Developer sandbox to get full control while learning.
