Send Password Reset to Contact Error

Our users were having an error code displayed with they tried to generate an email to reset their password, through the Portal, so I followed instructions and successfully added a user in the "From" field within the properties of the Send Password Reset to Contact process. I verified this user is mail enabled in Dynamics 365. Now, when I attempt to generate a password reset email from the portal, it does not give an error and instead says to "Check your inbox for email to reset password..." however the email never arrives. When I check the session history for the workflow, it doesn't show it ever kicked off. Any ideas??

    Do you have e-mail configuration enabled in your environment? are you able to send a manual email?

    I have mail enabled and it is enabled for the user whose name I have the email coming from. I'm unsure how to send a manual test email though?

    Open a Model Driven app and Create an Email Activity record (e.g. open the Contact record that your wanting to password reset and on their timeline create a new Email), then press the Send button.  Apart from looking for errors Check the status reason of the email message,

     

    Also can go to the Email setup and look at the mailbox of the sending user and see alerts.

     

    Make sure that the mailbox has been Approved in Dynamics 365 (authorizes Dynamics 365 to interact with Exchange)., and the send/recieve tests have been successful.

    When you click on Forgot your password? button in Portals it will redirect to a page where the user needs to enter his email id to send the password reset email .

    • Please note that the entered email id should be same as one of the CRM contact records as shown in below screenshot.

    After following the steps as mentioned in the above shared blog, the user would received email like i tried to do as shown in below screenshot. This is the mail we received in my Gmail inbox.

    Hi there - Users are able to enter in their email addresses, but no email is being sent to reset the password. We have verified the email addresses are the same as in the Contacts.
