Count items from List 1 and update List 2

Hi all -

I am trying to build a flow that counts filtered items from LIST 1 based on the value of 2 fields from LIST 2, and can't seem to be able to wrap my head around it, though I'm pretty familiar with power automate.

List 1 looks like this :

List B (What I am trying to accomplish):

1. Count by location & group and plug in total in 'total names' field.

2. Count by location + group + completed projects.

-- These counts should happen across rather than down, which is where I'm getting stuck on how to get this accomplished.

Hi Mike - LOL I apologize for the confusion. List B should be List 2.

    1. The first list has all the records where I need the counts from and List 2 is where I'd like to store the counts.
    2. Total names is referring to how many names per location/group are on List 1. This number is used to compare for example, how many people from the Yellow group in Georgia have completed each project.
      • Georgia Yellow - Total head count=2 --> 2/2 have completed project 2 = 100% completion rate for that specific project.

I hope this makes sense. 😅 But please let me know if you need more info. I really appreciate you looking into this.

    Hi @AMR1009

I am having difficulty understanding exactly what you need.

You Have List 1, and then you say List 2, but below you show List B and say that's what you want, is that accurate, since I don't see List 2?

I cannot really write it up if I don't see List 2, otherwise it's a lot of back and forth and ain't nobody got time for that 🙂

Let's review what you are looking for:

    1. Count by location & group and plug in total in 'total names' field.

    2. Count by location + group + completed projects.

-- These counts should happen across rather than down, which is where I'm getting stuck on how to get this accomplished.

In #1, it says location & group, do you mean (like #2) where you wrote location + group + completed, meaning your grouping, because when I look at what you say you want to do, I dont understand.

New York / Blue has 3 items marked as completed, but Total Names = 1.. What is total names????

Please provide more / clearer details etc

If I have helped you, I would really appreciate if you please Mark my answer as Resolved/Answered, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

    Cheers
