Power Pages - Dropdown on List

I have a list based on a Dataverse table. I want to edit one column of the list to reassign it to another user. This should not open another page in a form. I have a form on another page that this currently sends the request to but I keep getting error 400s. Am I going about this the right way?

Thank your for choosing Power Platform Community.

-Use a Web API or Power Automate flow to update the user field directly from the list row, bypassing the form.
-Add a dropdown or button in the list row using custom JavaScript or Liquid, and trigger the update via API.
-Ensure the user column is a valid lookup to systemuser and that the GUID is passed correctly.
-Check permissions on the Dataverse table and form—especially for anonymous or authenticated users.
-If inline editing isn’t feasible, consider a modal popup instead of redirecting to another page.

If this fixes the issue, please mark as resolved to help others with find it.

Lists in Power Pages are designed mainly for display, with editing handled through linked forms. When you try to “hack” an inline update without the proper data binding, it throws 400 Bad Request because the list doesn’t know how to handle the update.

    Options to achieve your goal:

Option 1: Use Editable Grid in Power Pages.

Option 2: Custom JavaScript + Web API Call
Option 3: Use Power Automate with a Custom Button
