For findability purposes: I had a colleague who tried to play a Power App and then got "Unknown user" message instead.
We are now checking if his Time (zone) settings of the local device are causing this --> it is not correct but he does not have permission to change setting so logging ticket with IT 😁
This is the error I received:
Failed to obtain authoring session token from RP. Cannot read property 'payload' of null undefined bac60507-cbc8-47da-823c-5621aa862b3d
I solved it by emptying the cache and hard reloading it.
I got the same error this morning and I'm the admin.I cleared my cache and it worked like a charm.
I just got the same error as you and fixed by turning on "Set time zone automatically" in my PC
Hi @Subanesh
Can you take a screenshot of your Time Settings?
Make sure the time you are seeing is in your time zone.
In error screen, click the More details again and provide the screenshot.
Close the Current error screen window, try to open the app again (not just refreshing the page)
Also, Click in "My account" in the top right corner => Subscriptions. Check if you have any PowerApps licenses.

Hello,I too received same issue like this
"Failed to obtain authoring session token from RP. Cannot read property 'payload' of null"
I have set my time zones automatically. Still I get the same.
Is there any other solution for this problem?
@Anonymous
This is because the computer time is not set automatically along with the time zone.
Kindly make sure they are set to Automatically.
The development team acknowledged the issue and investigating this for future updates.
Hi @v-bofeng-msft,
I have a similar problem except I am the only one in the tenant and thereby the tenant admin. I have a "Microsoft 365 Business Standard"-license which is supposed to be applied to the PowerApps for Office 365 application.
Do you have any suggestions as to how I solve this?
Thank you,
Olithea
Hi @Anonymous :
Could you tell me have you tried @amitchandak 's solution?Have you solved your problem?
Could you tell me whether your account has the relevant license? (Eg:per app/per user)
This problem may happens when you have been only added on the environment but have not been assigned with any license. Please ask you tenant admin to add PowerApps license to your account.
I think this link will help you a lot:
