New Stream Control - Unable to View Videos in Mobile Mode

Posted on 26 Nov 2024 08:44:59 by 34
Hi everyone,

I am trying to add the Stream control in my canvas app to view videos. The videos are stored in SharePoint and I am the owner of the site. I have embedded the URL by opening the video -> share -> embed code, copied the URL from https till the last character before &embed. The video plays when I am in studio or play mode in browser (screenshot 2). However, after saving, publishing and running the app on my mobile or iPad, the video does not load and a message "You do not have access to this video" is displayed (screenshot 1).

I checked the permissions on the SharePoint on the file, folder and site levels and I am the owner.

Please assist.

Thank you.

    interesting usecase:

Power Apps does not persist session cookies or credentials across devices in the same way, especially for embedded media content.

    Option:
Upload the video to the youtube or Vimeo platform.
Use the Embed or Direct URL from the platform in the Media or HTML Text control.

This reminds me of an old problem that I had in playing videos from SharePoint which I never found a solution for. The app was unable to authenticate a connection to SharePoint because of how SharePoint authentication works. You should log a support ticket and hopefully this time a solution can be found.

Hey. I'm not sure why this is happening but I notice that the Stream control is still in preview (more info) so I would suggest raising a support ticket with Microsoft via the Power Platform Admin Center:
