Hi Everyone,
I saw a discussion happening on this topic in previous threads but not able to find the solution.
We have created Teams in Power Platform and assigned security role to the Team.
AD group is configured in Teams which have users to whom Role should be assigned.
But this is not working and we have to assign roles to users manually.
I also checked Security role settings and is configured to "Direct User access level and Team Privilege's".
Let me know if there is a solution for this
Hi @jlindstrom ,
Thanks for your response.
I have one more query
Can you take a look into this and let me know if there is any possible solution for my query.
Thanks in advance
I answered this question here: https://youtu.be/tNOA5aG1wa4?si=uBAGnWQA2ei5xyu6
also: AD based teams users aren't assigned to teams until they log in for the first time.
team roles are not assigned to users, they inherit them via team assignment.
Also important to add appropriate permission to the team role--give the team a role with user level read, and then everybody in the team will have the permission to read stuff assigned to the team.
the important pieces are give the team a role that can see the table in question, assign records to the team, add people to the team.
Hi @vkartikiyer ,
You can manage your team members and assignment of roles to the users within these teams by using security or Microsoft 365 groups in Entra ID. This is a best practice and I do on most all of my projects.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/manage-group-teams
When members of these group teams access these environments, their access rights are automatically granted based on the group team's security role.
Follow steps in the article above to setup the mapping.
Hi @vkartikiyer
As long as the Team is assigned a security role, its member users will inherit the privileges of that security role (if the role is set to Direct User access level and Team Privilege's) by virtue of being members of that team . This won't automatically assign the role directly to the users though.
If you want the security role associated with the team to be assigned directly to its users then you'd need to achieve it using power automate flow.
Kind regards
Gulshan
