I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what's going on here. I am constantly getting this error any time I attempt to Enable Attachments or adjust attachment options on a form. It is an absolute garbage error message that provides nothing of value to help figure out how to address whatever is causing it.
I have done everything I can to try to fix it:
- I have attempted to re-save the form numerous times. I can adjust the form fields, add descriptions, etc. But as soon as I try to enable the attachments, I get that error.
- I have deleted the form from the page, deleted the page from the site, deleted the site entirely, and started a new test site to no avail. The entire platform is borked and I don't know why.
- Existing test sites with existing forms that worked in the past no longer allow for updates to the attachments options on any form, on any page.
- New forms on new sites are affected too - which means I can't even begin to rebuild my site from scratch if I wanted to.
- I can only assume there is something going on between the Note (annotation) table and the attachment functionality, but it's impossible to know what or why.
This has all but bricked Power Pages for me.
Can anyone point me in some direction that might help me determine what's going on here?
This is absolutely broken on the Microsoft side of Power Pages - and there's apparently no way to fix it. However, there is a work around - and that's to hand-roll the configuration for any form that requires Attachments.
In Portal Management > Basic Forms > Select Your Form, the settings for Attachments that one would normally configure from the UI can be modified in the Additional Settings tab below the "Action Button Configuration" and "Associate Current Portal User on Insert" sections. Be sure to Sync the changes, but expect the form to fail saving any time you want to change the configuration from the UI.
