Forbidden clientRequestId: Populate a Microsoft Word template

Posted on by 90

So far it appears that me and another person (separate organization) is receiving the same error when trying to use the Word Online (Business) Connector to Populate a Microsoft Word template.

The error is: The dynamic operation request to API 'wordonlinebusiness' operation 'GetFileSchema' failed with status code 'BadRequest'. This may indicate invalid input parameters. Error response: { "status": 400, "message": "Forbidden clientRequestId: XXXXX", "error": { "message": "Forbidden" }, "source": "wordonlinebusiness-ne.azconn-ne-002.p.azurewebsites.net" }

I have confirmed that my license still includes the Power Automate per user plan. I have ensured that I have full control on the sharepoint document library and file being used. I have tested on other files in other areas, such as OneDrive. I can use the 'Convert Word Document to PDF' action just fine, even on the same document I'm trying to use to populate a template.

Any help is appreciated.

    Any updates on this? I have one user that keeps getting this error for 9 month..Microsoft Power Platform support is blaming SharePoint permissions however user can open file in SharePoint just fine. Ticket really went in circles still with no resolution..still working for 20+ other users just fine.
