Power App - Standard - Licence issue

Hi everyone,

We've encountered an issue with a Standard Power App that we've developed. The app does not use any premium features or connectors, and all our users have Office 365 E3 licenses. However, we're facing two problems:

  1. License Confirmation Step: For some users, when they try to open the app for the first time, they're prompted to confirm a "Test" license version before they can access the app. This shouldn't be happening since the app only uses standard features, and all users have the necessary Office 365 E3 licenses. Why is this happening, and how can we prevent this step so that users can open the app without any additional confirmations?

  2. Error After Confirming Test License: Some users who do proceed to confirm the Test license are encountering an error (see attached screenshot). This is preventing them from accessing the app entirely.

We'd appreciate any guidance on how to resolve these issues so that all users can access the app seamlessly without any additional license prompts or errors.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Kindest regards

Leon

    • Ensure Correct Environment: Make sure the app is developed and published within an environment that doesn’t have premium features or connectors. Sometimes, environments with premium connectors can cause this issue, even if they aren’t used in the app.
    • Check User Assignments: Ensure that users are assigned the correct Office 365 E3 license in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. If licenses are properly assigned, users should be able to access the app without additional prompts.
    • Clear Cache or Use Incognito Mode: Sometimes clearing browser cache or opening the app in an incognito window resolves this issue.
    • Tenant Settings Check: Check the Power Platform admin center to ensure that trial license provisioning is not being forced on users. You can adjust settings related to trial management to prevent such prompts.
    • Ensure License Consistency: Double-check that the affected users have consistent and active Office 365 E3 licenses, and that no conflicting or expired trial licenses exist in their profiles.
    • Re-Publish the App: Re-publish the app after reviewing and ensuring that no premium features are accidentally enabled. Sometimes this can clear up the issue.
    • Check Connector Use: Review all connectors used in the app to ensure none of them require a premium license. Even if an app initially seems to use standard connectors, certain actions or flows could trigger the need for a premium connector (e.g., Dataverse connections).
    • Contact Microsoft Support: If the issue persists, contact Microsoft support with the error details, as it may be a bug in Power Platform's licensing system or user management.
