Hi all,

we implemented a power apps portals on our dev environments. In order to deploy the portal i created a new portal on production environment, imported solution to include CDS customization and now i'm going to import portal configuration by Xrm toolbox (Portal record mover).

I encountered error because website language, publishing state and Page template on my dev env have different guid on production so all record returns error.

Can you help me? Whats should be a proper procedure to deploy a portal from dev to production?

thanks in advance

    Hi @Anonymous

Just to make it clear your production site should have the same language. It doesn't matter if GUIDs are different.

    1. First create the site in the Production environment with the same language as the Dev environment

    2. Then using XRM toolbox portal records mover.

Note: Uncheck the following entities > Note, Forum Notification, Page Notification, Invitation

Top Tip: You can only choose the filter get records created on or after > so it will move only those records

If the above method is still throwing an error for you. I suggest you follow the second method below

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/portals/admin/migrate-portal-configuration?tabs=CMT

In the article, to make it easy use the configuration migration tool utility ( not the PowerShell )

    Hi @Anonymous ,

of course, @ragavanrajan is complety right. I'd like to add a small bit to this: I completely switched my deployments to the PAC CLI tool (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/developer/cli/reference/paportal-command  as stated in the note on the screenshot above).  This works very well . A colleague of mine also set this up in a devops pipeline, so we have a backup of the code in git AND an automatic deployment to production when a specific branch is commited.

Just a hint. May be it helps a little bit.

    Have fun,

      Christian
