Blow is a image that better describes my question. How do I change the hint text that is displayed with the cursor hovers over the search box (white text on back background)?  The image illustrates a lookup search launched from a Portal Entity Form. Customer wishes a more understandable description.  Many thanks.

That's great input and hopefully will stop me brothering you!  Just one comment when I used HTML rather than Text in the tool tip the html markup was also displayed, so ended using plain text.  Not sure if you have seen that?

I had to dig into the old Portals community source code to find it: https://github.com/Adoxio/xRM-Portals-Community-Edition

If that solves your problem, can you please mark as answer

Also recently @OOlashyn created a new page available on GitHub with a list of hidden snippets + site settings

There is a hidden Content snippet you can define that tooltip text

simply create a snippet called: Portal/Lookup/Modal/Grid/Search/TooltipText and add your value there

This will apply to every lookup search in the Portals, we can't define (via configuration) it for a specific lookup attribute

you can also define the search placeholder using the following content snippet: Portal/Lookup/Modal/Grid/Search/PlaceholderText

if you need to be specific for a certain Lookup attribute, I would recommend applying JavaScript customization then
