Dynamically Share Records and Cascade Table Permissions

Experts,

We have a couple of questions regarding with Power Pages security.

First, does Power Page have the concept of share records with someone?  I am creating a record in Power Pages, of course I have access, meanwhile, I want to, say share access to my three co-workers so they can also have access.  For every record, we want to dynamically select who to share.  Is there an easy to achieve that, similar as share concept in MDA?

Second, for the record I created, it has children, spreading out in several child tables.  What is the way to allow cascading permissions i.e., if you can see the parent record then you can see all children?  For MDA, we just configure cascade all, and then it is done automatically.

Thanks a million!

    Hi @ning_zhu_1973,

unfortunately there is no button as you say to just share the record as in model driven app. I would suggest creating a button and using that in combination with a cloud flow. Get the user to write, select etc. the emails or users somewhere and use a flow similar to the one here: https://www.chadalthaus.com/2020/12/unbound-actions-how-to-share-and.html

That should be a good way for the first question.

The second question is quiet easy. You will have the views which are the same as in your MDA. Creating a view and using the cascade should enable the same procedure. You have to add the read priviliges inside power pages, but after that I believe it works as expected.

    Hope that helps.
