Hey People 🙂

I followed this blog entry for redirect from a form to another. (https://debajmecrm.com/quick-tip-redirect-to-edit-form-post-creating-a-record-in-powerapps-dynamics-365-portals/)

After i created a record i want to get redirected to the edit form on the same record.

The problem is, that i dont get the Edit Form shown as a Web page, so i can insert it on the "On Success Settings" in the Insert From.

Can anybody help me out here ?

Cheers folks 🙂

    Okay found my Error.

Just changed line 40 "a.details-link" to "a.edit-link" and it works perfect.
    Thank you very much Oliver!!

    Great work Oliver!
Your Javascript solution looks perfect for what i need. Unfortunately i am not that good with javascript.
I tried to add the code in the entity list but when i create a new record and the record closes, nothing happens. Maybe anything i have to adjust?

    cheers 🙂

"Just create a new web page with your Edit Form and follow the article."
Unfortunetly this was the problem i was facing. But i think i got it now. Thanks for replying lashyn and Oliver.

I created a webpage, connected the entity form and added the webpage to the "on success setting" at the create form.
It works, but not perfect. Maybe you have an idea to fix it without javascript?
When i create the new record i get redirected to the "edit-Form" but on a whole new page. But i want it just to fade to the edit Form like in your blog post oliver. Is that possible?

Cheers and have a good day!

Hi, can you share snapshots of your Web Page configuration/entity form and portal so we understand what's happening?

You need to make sure you have 2 different Web Pages and 2 different Entity Forms, one representing the Insert and another the Edit mode.

Your Insert Entity Form should redirect to the Web Page that represents the Edit entity form.

I wrote an article with a different approach using JavaScript, but instead of opening the forms on different pages, I am creating/editing the record via modal/pop-up: http://oliverrodrigues365.com/2020/11/22/power-apps-portals-javascript-tip-03-load-edit-modal-after-record-creation/

    Hi @TheGreatDensby ,

Just create a new web page with your Edit Form and follow the article.
