I have a list of dynamic Marketing lists and I wanted to put a dashboard together to highlight how many members are on those marketing lists.
Or if it would be easier I have 5-7 Yes No fields on a contact how could I combine all of these on to one chart so I can basically see how many Contacts are ticked for each marketing list?
Please help if you could kindly provide some screenshots also
Hi @Justin365,
To keep it simple you probably don't need marketing list and would stay away if possible. You can easily create a chart to see how many contacts per tick and then drill down to these contacts. You can display that chart in a dashboard or in table list or forms with the "Show Chart" button.
Hope this helps!
Hi @Justin365,
Just came across another link that discusses some of the Dynamic marketing list approaches you could use as well: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/microsoft-dynamics-crm-forum/197338/crm-online---field-to-count-marketing-list-number-of-members-for-static-and-dynamic-list-with-more-than-50000-members/922854
Thanks!

Hi @Justin365,
I was thinking through this and did some more research and have some additional thoughts.
1. If the Marketing Lists were "Static" vs. "Dynamic" from a membership perspective there is already a "Member Count" field on the Marketing List table that would be populated with the total members in the list.
If you have this you can create a chart in the Marketing List entity like the following:
From here you can create your own dashboard like the following adding this chart:
Let me know if this is what you are looking for... If your Marketing Lists are Dynamic in membership well, then we have another discussion as some of the steps above will not work because the counts are not populated for Dynamic Marketing Lists...
Hope this helps. Please mark accepted if solved your question and Like if helped at all.
Thanks much,
Drew
@dpoggemann thank you for the reply. Is there a simplistic way to do this using some y/n checkboxes against a contact
For example I have 5 Y/N Tickboxes against a contact which reference the Marketing lists. Is there a way to easily create a D365 Chart with that on one chart if your able to provide some screenshots or examples would be super appreciated.
Hi @Justin365,
The relationship here is a N:N relationship in Dynamics 365 between the Marketing List and the List Member (listmember) table. There is no out of the box way in Dynamics 365 that you will be able to create a dashboard for this. The following is a link to an article about extracting with FetchXML: https://syncratec.com/marketing-list-member-details/
You are not able to create a rollup field on the Marketing List because it will not show you the N:N relationships either to the listmembers.
One option here might be to utilize Power BI to create the report / dashboard you are looking for. This link discusses what tables to go after when connecting...
The Marketing lists can also be dynamic vs. static which would be very tough to create a dashboard as the membership is evaluated based on a query.
Sorry, not an easy ask with Dynamics 365.
Hope this helps. Please accept if answered your question or Like if helped.
Thanks,
