Hello,

I have recently started learning Power Pages and was experimenting with Their Forms.

1. Is there a way to create a new form question from Power Pages UI to allow Admins to add new input fields for the form.

2. If there is, then how the data will get stored and how will it affect previously stored data?

3. I have found one article for doing the same thing in Power Apps - How to create Dynamic Forms in Power Apps - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)

4. Will it be right to provide admin section onto Power Pages? what will be best to do? similar question for permission - Suppose I have a permission list which stores the information of users who have access to Page 1 and Page 2, Now if the admin wants to provide access to page 3 then will providing an interface on Power Pages, will this be a good idea based on security?

Re: How to create Dynamics Forms in Power Pages Forms

    Hi @AG_PP ,

Great to see your interest in Power Pages! Let's address each of your questions:

    1. Creating a New Form Question in Power Pages UI:

      • Power Pages doesn't directly support the creation of dynamic forms with an easy-to-use UI like Power Apps does. However, you can design and add fields to forms in the Power Apps portal, which is part of the Power Platform. This can then be surfaced in Power Pages.
    2. Data Storage and Impact on Previously Stored Data:

      • When you add new input fields to a form, those fields typically correspond to columns in a database table (Dataverse table, if using Power Platform). New data will be stored in these new columns. Existing data will remain unaffected, but previously stored records will not have values for these new fields unless explicitly updated.
    3. Reference Article for Power Apps:

      • The article you mentioned, "How to create Dynamic Forms in Power Apps," provides a good foundation. The principles can be adapted to Power Pages by using Power Apps to create and manage forms and then embedding these forms within Power Pages.
    4. Admin Section on Power Pages and Permissions:

      • Providing an admin section on Power Pages is feasible but requires careful consideration of security. Implementing proper authentication and role-based access control is crucial.
      • For permissions, you can manage user access within the Dataverse or through Power Platform's built-in security roles. If the admin needs to update permissions, you can create an admin interface on Power Pages, but ensure it is securely implemented. Using Power Pages for managing permissions can be effective if the appropriate security measures, like Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) integration, are in place.
