List view returning ?id=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 when asked to show details

Dear everyone,

I've taken a lot of time in my day to figure out this case.

I have a list, it correctly shows records associated with the authenticated contact. However, when I click on the list to show details of my basic form with configurations (mode = edit, resource type = query string, record id parameter = id), the GUID or ?id= in the URL shows all zeroes. How can I fix this?

I've compared my settings and permissions to my previous tests, but I can't seem to find what I've missed for it to do this. Please help.

To add, when I change permissions to Global, I can see all records, and the show details feature works. But when I convert the permissions to contacts, it returns the zeroes.

Just recreated the list, for some reason it corrected the issue.

its my first week using portals and this is my first and only experience navigating from lists....don't suppose you changed anything/set the list up differently the most recent time round?

I remember now, I was using an OOTB list. I revised the list and used that. I made a custom list, added that to my list, and then it worked. TBH I don't know what's happening behind the scenes but most probably it's the built-in settings the guys from Microsoft made.

in case its any help to you i found that i needed to change how i was passing the information in the management app for the website (altering it from passing the string to it being the logged in user)
i have caught this randomly changing itself however so wondering if thats the issue we might have both had
