Power Automate - using specific connection for "Populate a Microsoft Word template" action

Good morning,

in a flow we're using the "Populate a Microsoft Word template" action to populate (and save) a word template. In the details of this action we specify an explicit connection:

But when starting the flow on an element in the library, the flow or rather the action uses the currently logged in user in the connections and not the configured one:

For every other connection (Outlook, Sharepoint, etc.) the flow is using the configured connection. Is there a way to change this so that "Word Online (Business)" is also using the defined connection?

I must apologize, on the small screenshot you attached, it was unfortunately not apparent that it was the permissions of the run only users.
This mystery has now been solved, thank you very much!

I'm sorry if I have to disagree, but all the other actions (Get File Properties, Create File, Send an email, etc) in the same flow use the connection defined in the respective action. Only the action "Populate a Microsoft Word Template" behaves differently and ignores the connection explicitly defined.

Therefore, briefly summarized again:
- why does only this one action ignore the explicitly defined connection?
- is it possible to change this?

Hi @dkuebler ,

This is the expected behavior when different users use this flow by default using the connection created by their own account.

The solution I gave you can force all run only users to use the connections you specified.

thanks for your reply! This is what seem to happen now, the action is using the details of the user that is runing the flow, but this is exactly what we do NOT want. The action should use the connection defined in the action itself (see screenshot #1) and not the one of the user which is running the flow.

If the flow is an instant flow ,you could add run only users to make them use specific connections.
