Linking individuals within a table in my model driven app

Hi,

I hope I'm posting this to the right place. I have a model driven app and I need to link individuals within a table using grids and I'm not 100% sure how to go about it. So lets say I need to link staff within a team to each other to show they are connected. It needs to be the case that once I link staff A to staff B, when I go to staff B's details page I will see a link which links him back to staff A. I will then need to do the same for management linking them to the members of their team.

I was attempting to do this with subgrids but it doesn't seem to link staff back to each other. So for example, if I link staff A with staff B, staff B isn't automatically linked back.

Are subgrids the best way to go about this? Or should I be using a different type of grid? I have seen a few tutorials demonstrating how to link different records to each other but not necessarily records within the same table. I also can't find anything about having them automatically linking each other back.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Thanks, that's what I was looking for, I didn't realise there was a connections option, I was just using a basic subgrid. And thanks for giving the few other options as well.

Could you consider using connections ( default feature) ?
other option is customized table and connection table ( you can reuse the table ), and use subgrid to show customized view.
Or, the one before I showed, need a pcf control to triiger the Bi-directional behavior.

@stampcoin Yes, that looks about right. It just needs to be the case that after you link John Doe to Alice Johnson the link between Alice and John is then automatically made. It shouldn't be the case where I have to go into Alices profile as well to create a second link back to John. If that is what has happened here then its exactly what I need.

Hi @stampcoin, I need to be able to view linked individuals. So I guess just show the relationship. I assumed I could display this in a subgrid. I don't need to be able to change the relationship. Ideally what I wanted was to just be able to select other team members and this would be displayed in the subgrid. However if i'm in "Johns" details page and I link "Sarah" to him using the subgrid when I go to Sarahs details, John is not listed in the linked staff subgrid. I was under the impression if I went about this correctly, linking individuals one way would also automatically link the other individual back. I hope this clarifies what I'm trying to do. I basically want to be able to display the individuals team members on the form using a grid.
