Power Pages - SharePoint Upload ERROR

(0) ShareShare

Hi all!

I am using Power Pages with a Web form configured with a Subgrid to allow users to upload documents that are saved to a Sharepoint library. Everything seems to be correctly configured following the guide provided by Microsoft documentation.

The weird behavior is that sometimes I receive an Error when I try to upload a file bigger than 100KB, here attached the response provided by the inspect tool:

PP_Developers_1-1690208671936.png

The error says also that "The service is unavailable".

Upload file size is already configured on Dynamics 365 with a limit of 50120KB.

Does anyone had the same problem? How did you solve it?? Thanks for the help in advance.

    Hi @PP_Developers ,

You can change the file size limit through:
    Advance setting
    system
    admin

    System setting

    email

    Set File Size limit.

Max file size for SharePoint is 50 MB

    Hi,

I have the same issue. I've updated the "Set File Size limit" setting and the Site Setting for SharePoint/MaxUploadSize to 50 MB. However, I'm only able to upload files under 90 kb. I've reached out to support and they are saying that the product team told the support person that it seems like this issue is probably happening because of the Web Application Firewall rules.

This ticket with the support team has been open since early July with still no resolution. Hopefully, they get back to me. Not sure why it's still restricted to only 90 KB file size. The Power Page form use case is for a process where they upload an image from a smartphone camera, which is typically 5-7 MB in size from a modern smartphone.

I'm seeing something similar. I'm uploading annotations through the web api in power pages. Larger files originally worked, but after a period of time, maybe a month, I'll start getting 403's on any attachments larger than about 100k. Uploading through PP portal continues to work fine.

I've seen the same issue across multiple environments & tenants.

Update to my post above. The issue was the Web Application Firewall as @jbucy support call suggested. The firewall is a part of the go live checklist for power pages, so when you go through the list and activate it your requests will be limited to a max body size of 128k by default. That explains why I could make large requests then suddenly couldn't. The admin had turned the WAF on.

Unfortunately, I had to turn off WAF to resolve the issue.

@Mickroy could you elaborate on this? Is this the Web Application Firewall in the Client azure portal or does this request need to go the Power pages support team and the Power pages support team needs to fix something?

@mmmca have a look at this link. It can be increased to 2MB in WAF config. Anything further I believe requires a support ticket. You can turn off request body inspection all together, but that's typically a bad idea.

In my case it was a client's portal the was affected, so their IT took care of resolving it with MS & I don't know the full details. I do know that they logged a ticket because we wanted WAF on with request body inspection. We just didn't want the request body limit so we could upload large attachments.
