Hi,

I created an APP and started using it. For initial 3 to 4 times it worked fine. However now i am getting an error after clicking submit - VALUE MUST BE AT MOST 255 CHARACTERS IN LENGTH.

Not sure why this is happening. When i check in the formula, everything looks fine until i click on submit. Post clicking, the error pops up and when i see the formula i get all RED squiggly lines. If i delete a comma(,) or a dot(.) and type it again, the formula looks good but the error pops up as soon as i click on submit button.

I have a Sharepoint List with more than 2000 items. I created a collection to pull all the items from SP list. I have created the columns in SP List as Multiple lines of text. Not sure why the error is occurring again and again.

Below is the final formula i used to Patch the results.  Request any one of you techies to help me understand what am i doing wrong.

    Value must be at most 255 characters
    I was getting this error on a control that was calling a Power Automate workflow (no patching involved) and found that removing the workflow from the app under the Power Automate section and then adding it back it, resolved the issue.

    @mdevaney

    I am embarrassed. I was only looking at the fields where my data source has columns with Multilines. I never was thinking about the Employee Name column - set as single line of text.

    Thank you once again, your help is very much apreciated. You don't have an idea from what you saved me 🙂

    Thanks

    @sasidhar_mudra

    To clarify, my idea was to remove the fields one-by-one and try to submit the records.  This will identify the problem.

    @mdevaney

    I did checked the SP list to see if i did something wrong by letting the column as Single Line Text. Everything seems fine in the SP List (my data source).

    I refreshed the data sources in the app as well.

    The problem is, when i delete one by one in Patch statement, it is not showing me the error at that time but later when i clicked on submit 😞

    Let me give it another try and reach out... Thank you for the help..

    Regards

    @sasidhar_mudra

    You'll need to convert the field that is exceeding 255 characters to a mutli-line text Column in SharePoint.  Then, you'll need to refresh the datasource on the left-side menu: click on the datasource then the refresh option.

    If you do not know which field is giving you trouble I suggest you remove the fields one-by-one from the PATCH statement to detect where the issue lies.
