custom registration form and approval

Hi everyone,

I have a requirement where I want to customize the registration process. Below are the requirements

1. I want to include more fields in the registration form.

2. When a user submits, it should not automatically be activated. Rather an email will be sent to the business and they can approve/reject authorisation.

The current Registration page looks like this:

How can I achieve this? I know I can send email using power automate but how can I edit the registration form and not activate user after the registration?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

You want to edit existing Registration page or to show your own custom Registration page?

    Thanks,

    Saud

    Hi @saudali_25 ,

Thanks for your response. Ideally, I would like to use my own custom registration page. If not, editing existing registration page will work. Do you know how this can be achieved? Thanks!

    Hi @Anonymous,

if you want to style the existing one and add some more options follow the posts here:

    1. https://softchief.com/2021/09/27/edit-registration-page-in-power-portal/
    2. https://ulrikke.akerbak.com/2020/02/16/customize-the-sign-in-and-registration-page-in-power-app-portals/

If you want to add a custom registration page you can override the existing one by using the /PageCopy trick or create a new page yourself and add needed features to it. I would recommend using the register page and customize it to your extend as there is some functionality in the background you don't want to code yourself.

Hope that helps. Please mark the post as a solution if it solves your problem or consider a thumbs up when it helps.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Though both options are available, and you can achieve either way. The Sign in page in Power Apps Portals is kind of tricky to customize as you won’t find any web template for it. It is divided across various content snippets in Portal Management. But the recommended way to override the existing Sign in and Registration pages. This approach is relatively simple you can create your own content snippet records in Portal Management App and paste your code there. Only using JavaScript / Javascript framework + Liquid you can style your pages. Below articles explains it very well with examples and background.

Feel free to ask, if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Saud

Thank you @saudali_25  & @Lucas001 for your guidance. It was really nice to understand the logic.

However, I did not need to edit the existing logic of registration form. They needed update in the profile page form. Customer requested that as long as new registered user do not fill all the fields of the profile page & customer do not approve it, he/she should not be able to see particular pages. I have implemented this in the following way:

    1. Updated the profile page form

    2. Created a business rule that if customer approves the authorization, set the web role as "Authenticated user" else the role will be empty.

    3. Show the page only to the authorized users.

In this way, we were able to achieve what customer wanted. Thanks again for your valuable inputs. Have a great day !!
