'Dual-write'; Required or Not for Power Pages and/or Power Pages F&O Design/Build

I have been tasked with investigating 'Dual-write', its purpose and whether it should be implemented in a
development 'proof-of-concept' in Power Pages (Dataverse), where the end product will be built in Microsoft
Finance and Operations.

I have never used Microsoft Finance and Operations, and I am not familiar with 'Dual-write', which I am assuming
is a higher-level security feature.

Any assistance with clarify 'Dual-write' does, benefits/pitfalls, is greatly appreciated.

I can't talk to specifics of F&O, but Power Pages only works with Dataverse so you need your data in dataverse tables (or dataverse virtual tables).

F&O doesn't use Dataverse as its datastore natively, Dual-Write is a way to get your data into Dataverse.
