Pass argument to embedded canvas app from entity form

I added a canvas app attached to my calculated text field. When I run it the canvas form is loaded with information from my entity record. Is it possible for me to pass in Arbitrary information to the canvas so I can tailor my user experience? I want my canvas app to be generic and re-useable, not having to bind specifically to an entity.

Sure, you can pass as many Paramters as you want using the URL query string.

Then use the Param function to pull them, verify which ones have data, and display whatever you want.
