Dataflow / power query - values multiplied by 100000

Posted on by 153
Hello,

I hope someone can help with a problem I can not understand.

Overview:

I am using Dataflow in Teams to import/sync Excel data to Dataverse for Teams.

The problem relates to a single column that is converting incorrectly.

In excel the data is 'standard', in power query the column is transformed to decimal, in Dataverse the resulting column is Floating point

Some of the data can be seen below
data in excel data in power query data in data verse
(raw) (transform, decimal / rounded, 5)
0,003454861 0,00345 345.00
0,030208333 0,03021 3,021.00
0,033333333 0,03333 3,333.00
0,030208333 0,03021 3,021.00
0,0525 0,0525 525.00
0,038333333 0,03833 3,833.00
0,022111111 0,02211 2,211.00
0,047619048 0,04762 4,762.00
0,007407407 0,00741 741.00

it appears everything is being multiplied by 100000.

I work in a french environment meaning the seperators are different, (but many many) other columns are importing correctly - the problem is only happening with these longer decimals

Can anyone help? I really would rather not divide them all again later - its messy

    Hi,

How should the values be shown? If it is 0.00354 for example, you might have to do a replace in the column. Swap out all commas for dots. This will work assuming you don't have any values higher than 1000.

To do a replace, right click the column header and select replace values

Looking further at this the leading zeros are being removed when the data is imported to dataverse. The regional settings in powerquery are set to French.

Any thoughts on how to correct this?

    Thanks
