Basic form attachment upload does not set Regarding on note

I have a basic form that has attachments enabled, the form created the new record in the custom table and any attachment gets created in the note table, however the regarding is blank and so I'm not able to get the associated attachment using flow for the next steps in the process.

The site will be anonymous users so i'm not sure if its a permissions issue, however the fact both records create successfully has me thinking it is a simple issue I'm missing, the relationship between the custom entity and note also seems to be created correctly, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Did you add the timeline on your primary entity of the basic form? I think the regarding should set by default.

thanks @domliu yes i do have a timeline added and unfortunately that hasn't helped.
My process is very basic, a form to a custom entity and an upload button enabled, the process would then be for power automate to pick up the data and then the attachment, however there is some simple part of the equation that i am missing and its probably very basic to a frequent user of Power Pages. Is there any permissions between the tables other than the relationship that i am missing?

Hi @CiaranCampbell ,

Can you please check if the custom table enabled attachments? You can check that from the table properties in https://make.powerapps.com
On your Basic Form, did you select the correcy Table Name, Form Name and Tab Name? the timeline control needs to be added in the tab that display on the portal. You should also create a Basic Form Metadata, choose Notes for the Type, then enable create.

If none of above helps, prehaps share more screenshots of how that looks like on your portal? and your basic form configurations.

Thanks @domliu for assisting on this.
I've started with a very basic form to troubleshoot, attachments enabled, timeline added
Table and form, correct (the item is creating correctly in the entity table and the notes table, it is only the regarding that is missing)
Basic Form Metadata for notes is created;
When i submit a test, the data is created in the entity correctly, attachments is blank
the attachment is in the note table, but regarding is blank

Is the associated table reference need?

Hi @CiaranCampbell ,

Can you try modify the table permission for both of your custom table and Note to add Append and Append to and Edit?

Hi @domliu , i had append and append to already enabled, i did add a new permission for notes on its own, but still no joy, regarding still not showing up on the note

@CiaranCampbell - I'm a PM in Power Pages team. Did you get a chance to check out attachment feature in Design Studio? Notes attachment can be enabled with a single click from Design Studio (Snapshot attached with this msg).

@senna - did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am experiencing the same issue and do not know how to solve it in PowerPages (this worked fine when I had the site in the standard mode version).
