Hi

I have a sharepoint list in a teams sharepoint site and I want to create a Dataverse Table in order to use Power Apps to provide a better UI

I can find the list and see the data in power query but when i set the load parameter and select next it just wont import the columns

Any ideas why it doesn't work would be welcome

Regards
Roger

It sounds like you have a solid reason for moving from SharePoint to Dataverse, given the complexity of managing serial numbers, stock updates, and payment tracking across multiple locations.

    Possible Reasons & Fixes

    • If the column types in SharePoint don’t map properly to Dataverse, Power Query might struggle to load them.
    • Certain column types (e.g., Person, Lookup, Multi-select Choice) do not transfer smoothly, import this data manually once the actual migration is completed.
    • If the Dataverse connection is not properly authenticated, Power Query might pull data but fail to insert it into Dataverse.

Importing a SharePoint list to an existing Dataverse table
    Hi

Its not quite that simple the app is to collect stock and payment data from the point of sale so will be forms based. The stock has to be decremented each time a sale is made and the stock is serial numbered. We need to manage over 40 serial number series in 27 locations. The end user must issue the next serial in the series and record the quantity, type and description of the payments taken.

This has proved to be too complex for sharepoint and also the calculations need a better range of functions, so we plan to build the forms in power apps and store the considerable data in dataverse.

I cant import from either sharepoint or excel - everything works up to the point of getting the data in to power query but the data never occurs in the tables - either new or existing.

What is the reason that you want to migrate the data from SharePoint to Dataverse ?

For Powerapps you can also use sharepoint as a datasource too, If you used dataverse it need premium license for all the users who using the powerapps.

There is no linkage between the data source for the UI design.
