I'm working through Mission 04 – Add Event Triggers to act autonomously (Lab 4.1: Automate uploading resumes to Dataverse received by email).
In this section I'm adding an event trigger to my Hiring Agent. The steps are to go to the Overview tab → Triggers and Channels section → + Add, then select When a new email arrives (V3) and verify that each connection reference shows a green check mark before creating the trigger.
The issue: I'm unable to repair / establish the Outlook (Office 365) connection required for this email trigger. The connection reference isn't showing a healthy/green status, so I can't complete the trigger setup. I've tried signing in through the ellipsis (...) and creating a + New connection reference, but the connection still won't repair.
Even using my personal and work Outlook accounts, neither works.
Has anyone run into this Outlook connection issue on Mission 04? Any guidance on repairing the connection reference or required permissions would be appreciated.
This is a common issue in Power Up Program tenants where OAuth permissions for the Office 365 connector can be restricted by the tenant configuration.
Before trying to repair it from within Copilot Studio, go to make.powerautomate.com first, open Data then Connections, and create a fresh Office 365 Outlook connection there. Once it shows as healthy in Power Automate, head back to Copilot Studio and select that existing connection when setting up your trigger. This bypasses the repair loop inside the studio.
Also worth confirming that your account has an active Exchange Online mailbox. The "When a new email arrives" trigger requires a real Exchange mailbox, not just an Entra ID account. If you are on a Power Up trial licence, it is worth checking whether Exchange Online is included, as some trial configurations do not provision a mailbox by default.
If neither of those sorts it out, raise it through the Power Up Program support channel since tenant-level connector restrictions are something only the program administrators can unblock on their end.
